Biancone Venato

The upper part of a Biancone Venato slab: wavy dark grey veins and fine rust-toned lines on a white ground

Description

Biancone Venato is one of four selections sorted by veining from the Volakas block of our quarry in Drama: a fine-grained, compact, dolomitic marble. Its pearl-white ground leans towards light grey; dark grey veins, micrometric to millimetric in thickness, run mostly parallel to one another. Here and there small rounded spots, a few millimetres across, and sparse surface pores appear.

Because the veins run one way, slabs can be sequenced for continuous veining and laid as book-matched pairs. All six finishes can be applied; tiles come in standard sizes at 1 and 2 cm, and slabs and cut-to-size pieces are cut to the dimensions requested. The laboratory values were measured on Volakas specimens.
