Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a site you visit leaves in your browser; it is sent back with the next request, so the site can remember you or your choice. This page explains which cookies our site uses, what for, and how to change your choice.
01Necessary cookies and similar technologies
These are needed for the site to work and ask for no consent; they do not identify you and send nothing to other sites.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
mabella-consent | Mabella (first party) | Stores your decision in the cookie banner — accept or decline — and its date, so the banner does not return on every page. | 180 days |
| Session storage (sessionStorage) | Mabella (first party) | Notes that the opening film on the home page has been watched in this session, so it does not start again when you return in the same tab. Not a cookie; never sent to the server. | Until the tab is closed |
02Analytics cookies — only with your consent
We use two tools to understand how the site is used: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. Neither loads, and neither sets the cookies below, until you choose “Accept” in the banner shown when you arrive. Google Analytics counts visits and page views; Clarity builds heatmaps and session recordings from clicks and scrolling. We use no advertising or marketing cookies.
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another. | 2 years |
_ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Persists the session state. | 2 years |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity (first party) | Persists Clarity's user ID and preferences, unique to this site. | Set by Microsoft |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity (first party) | Connects the page views of one session into a single recording. | Set by Microsoft |
CLID | Microsoft (third party) | Identifies the first time Clarity saw this browser on any site using Clarity. | Set by Microsoft |
ANONCHK | Microsoft (third party) | Indicates whether MUID is transferred to ANID, an advertising cookie; Clarity does not use ANID, so it is always 0. | Set by Microsoft |
MR | Microsoft (third party) | Indicates whether to refresh MUID. | Set by Microsoft |
MUID | Microsoft (third party) | Identifies browsers visiting Microsoft sites; Microsoft uses it for advertising, site analytics and other operational purposes. | Set by Microsoft |
SM | Microsoft (third party) | Synchronises MUID across Microsoft domains. | Set by Microsoft |
Durations and descriptions are taken from the providers' own documentation and are kept up to date there: Google Analytics cookie usage and Microsoft Clarity cookies. How Google and Microsoft process the data collected is described on the Privacy page.
03Changing your choice
The “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page reopens the banner, where you can change your decision. If you decline, the analytics tools stop and the cookies they set are removed from your browser. You can also view, delete and block cookies in your browser's settings; if you block the necessary cookie, the banner returns on every visit.
04Changes
When a tool is added or a cookie changes, this page is updated and, where needed, your consent is asked for again. The date at the top shows the last change.
